Chicken broth

Any ideas on how long store bought chicken broth stays good once opened? I use the resealable boxes, not cans and refrigerate after opened. Thanks for any thoughts.

If I remember correctly, the box says 14 days, but I've used it up to a month afterwards. I figure I'm boiling it anyway. I don't push it past one month though. I always write the date I open the container on it with a Sharpie.

Thanks - it's only been about 2 weeks, so I think I'll freeze it and then we'll be safe

Freeze some in an ice cube tray so if you need a small amount for a sauce you don't have to worry about the large container.

Maybe 10 days. Boiling doesn't make it ok, if it's gone bad so make sure you freeze it or throw it away.

The boxes will tell you. Some are 14 days after opening and some are only seven. When I open a box I write the use by date on the top and use or toss it by that date.

I guess I have to admit that I throw it out if I can't remember when I opened it, but otherwise use it. I don't think I ever go so long before needing it, though, that it would go bad.
