Sorry I did not report back as I promised.
They were fine except for shape and appearance. They were like this from the time we first bought them. In this recipe, shape was not a deal breaker.
Irregular shapes and uneven crescent rolls were an issue long before this.
The Costco pack has four tubes per package.
When I used the ones from the grocery store they were quite nice and each roll was identical. But not this time and Costco is usually very reliable.
Its as if they were "seconds". Or what might be the generic brand.
