Make sure you follow the directions for 'tending' your garden. I had my unit off to the side and I forgot about it for days/weeks at a time. The herbs did not get trimmed when they should have. This time (with tomatoes) I have the unit right in the kitchen where I look at it constantly. Definitely makes a difference.
