ISO tips for freezing okra?

Do I really have to blanch it or can I freeze it like I do peppers (wash, toss in a ziplock bag)?

If you want to freeze whole okra, I would blanch them first. Sliced, just throw 'em in a freezer bag. I have had good results.

I would however spread 'em out in a single layer on a cookie and freeze them before bagging them. My brain had a vapor lock...
