Hi ishbel! Bopis is a Filipino dish that's supposed to be very similar to Haggis. I've only had this perhaps 3 times in my life and I remember liking it. (I didn't know what it was made of the first time I tried it.) I will never cook Bopis though because I just won't be able to handle the raw organs. I thought this might interest you though. :)

Bopis Recipe

1 whole Pork or Beef Lungs- finely diced
1/2 kilo Beef or Pork Heart- finely diced
1/4 Kilo Pork or Beef Liver- finely diced
2 Onions
8 chopped Tomatoes
2 Garlic cloves, black peppers, Salt,
1/2 to 1 cup Vinegar,
Bird chili (or chili powder) to taste
2 Red bell peppers- cut in strips
1 Radish

Boil Lungs for 5 Minutes. Take from pan, rinse & squeeze excess water, then chop into very small cubes- also chop the heart & liver.

Saute the garlic, onions and tomatoes respectively, next put in the heart & lungs. Pour in the vinegar, salt, black peper and also the red pepper.

When almost cooked & dry, add in the chopped/cubed radish when tender then lastly add the cubed liver. Add the Hot chili powder or crushed chili pepper-to taste.

Goodness, that is an interesting recipe, Chopstix, thanks!

But, I think I'll pass! It's the oats etc in haggis that makes it palatable - and I have a feeling that the chilis etc in this would not be conducive to avoiding indigestion after ingestion.... 8)
