My favorite, favorite buffet place is Indian. The buffet is at lunch...awesome (Havaleh's--sp) here in Ottawa. A friend who is married to a guy from India gives it a thumb's up. They are vegetarians and this buffet always satisfies. I can't remember the price--it has been awhile since we've been there...maybe sometime soon. She quit her job (which was across the river in Quebec), so maybe now we can get there! Re: Chinese buffets. I also have found the desserts lacking, but always pigged out on the shrimp and steamed mussels!

What a great thread, always love talking about my favorite restaurants. Unfortunately the days of gorging in yummy buffetts are over for me. My body just cannot handle it. Now takes me about 3-4 days to feel normal and regular after feasting at a buffet. What I do enjoy and still frequently dine out at is more seafood buffetts. Their is a local buffett here in town that serves lobster, shrimps, and crabs. These are not too heavy and so delicious also low on the MSG that many of the buffetts use. Hope this helps.
