Green bean casserole

I want to make Alton Brown's green bean casserole from the FN website for Thanksgiving. It looks really good, but I'm worried that it wouldn't travel well. My idea was to prepare it until I put the crunchy onions on top, and finish that part when I get to our destination. We've got about an hour's drive.
Thanks!

Put it in the trunk (is it cold there yet?) and it should be fine. I think doing the topping when you arrive is a good call.

Make everything ahead like you planned.. you can assemble at your destination, or do what you planned assembling at home, adding onions at destination. How did it turn out?
My favorite green bean casserole recipe is from Trader Joes, it is superb!

Someone had written about eating this on the forum, and I was desperate for the recipe, so thanks for that - I hope it travelled well and went down even better!
