After removing a turkey from the brine should it be rinsed at all, or just left alone?

Wolfgang Puck cooked a brined turkey yesterday, and his recipe does not call for rinsing. I've never done it, obviously, and would like to try it on a chicken first. Just don't want to end up with a really salty bird.

Ive done it both ways and don;' think it makes any difference.

You should, however, let the bird air-dry for a bit -- this helps crisp up the skin.

Hmmm....I think we're all a little "cracked" around here, lyndalou. Could be why we all seem to get along so well... ;)

I rinse, because I've found that this gets any additional "yuck" off of, out out of the bird (Who knows what was in that brining bag?), and fondly believe it reduces any "excess" salt...
