Getting to know | Damien

1. If you could, would you open a restaurant and what would you call it?

2. What is your favorite hobby?

3. What do you do for a living?

1. Never thought about opening a restaurant, but if I were to, it'd probably be named something having to do with an Asian fusion theme.

2. I'd have to say PC computing and gaming

3. I am a Civilian Firefighter-Driver/Operator at Kirtland Air Force Base. I just most recently finished my Aerial D/O certification that allows me to drive this truck.

Conga Rats! That looks like it would be fun to drive!

I don't want a restaurant, but I would love to run a bookstore...I would call it "Bonfire Books."

Thank you! It's quite a handful! That certification and license was the last one I needed to worry about. I'm now licensed on every truck we operate on base.

Question for you.. Did you ever pick up any of that fish sauce I mentioned? If so, How did it work out for you? (I couldn't find the other thread..)

Now time to decompress.. I just got back from a week long trip to visit family and friends around the Duluth, MN area..

OK that is pretty damn cool that you can drive that truck!

How many different places have you lived and what was your favorite?

I've lived many different places in my 32 years wandering this earth. I was born in Austin, TX, raised in Duluth, MN til I was 18, Joined the Navy and Lived around Tokyo, Japan for 4 and a half years and then Misawa, Japan for the last 3 years of my Naval service. I came back home and lived in Superior, WI until I got my current job and uprooted myself to Rio Rancho, NM. I've been here in New Mexico for just over a year now. Though I miss the green trees and beautiful blue lakes of Minnesota, I'd have to say that my favorite had to be Misawa, Japan. It was an easy drive to get into the mountains, a quick drive to get to the ocean, culturally rich and diverse and absolutely beautiful scenery. I miss it so much and would love to get back there.

How hard was it to get used to driving on the left in Japan? How about the switch back to on the right, when you came home?
