What's the most dangerous thing you've ever done?
("danger" is subject to your take on the word)

What's one thing on your Bucket List? (a wish before you kick the bucket)

Do you think that you are generally an optimist or a pessimist?

Why do you cook?

Wow.....Let's see......

1. Most days, I still feel like I am 30 or so, other days, my real age lets me me know, I ain't 30 no more.
2. I am proud of my kids...but I reckon I am most proud of my brother.
This Thanksgiving will be 2 years since he had a stroke. He is doing well, and I am mighty proud of the effort he makes everyday to recover from it.
3. In recent years, I haven't had too much interest in sweets. But , back in the day, my grandmother used to keep those Maple Nut Goodies around.
Let me tell y'all, they were mighty good.

1. The Great Dismal Swamp is in Northeast North Carolina and Southeast Virgina.

2.I have been student of many things in my life: music, history and cooking, mainly, with side trips into computers and about a month ago, for good or ill....cell phones (I swore I would never have one.)

3. I would spend that money on Christmas gifts for my family and friends, as Christmas will be a mite thin this year.

1. Mr Crumpler was a irascible old cuss who didn't tolerate any kind of shenanigans in his class, which was "Introduction to Vocations" as I recall.
It was a course that included small engine repair, basic wiring and such, with an introduction to Parliamentary Procedure. I reckon I learned more in his class about respect and dignity and self reliance than I did in any other class in high school.

2. Travel. It is something I have always wanted to do, but never seemed to have the time or means. Having said that, I do aim to lay my eyes on the Shining Mountains once afore I die.

3. I would like to be remembered as a good father, husband and most important a good friend.

1. I try not to do too many dangerous things. I used to enjoy frog gigging, and I am still not sure why I didn't end up snake bit.

2. Beyond the aforementioned trip to the Rockies, I would like to dip my toes in the Pacific Ocean.

3. Definitely an optimist.

$. Cooking brings me so much satisfaction on many different levels.
I simply enjoy the process and I truly enjoy tasting and trying new things. And, of course, It is nice to hear your friends and family say " That was a mighty good meal, Hoot, Thanks!"

What's your simple pleasure? The one that costs you nothing and leaves you with that smile on your face.
