I was all out of cake flour and I wanted to make theses rolls so I used a cake mix that I had on hand. The rolls turned out really good and had a slightly sweet flavor. I leave these rolls out on the counter in a bag and my son will grab them and eat them just plain.
Enjoy! Debbie

the 3/4 cup flour, is that bread, cake, all purpose flour? does it matter?

what a great idea! I find cake mixes are so handy for quick cookies, and brownies, but I never thought of adapting it to yeast rolls. And when the cake boxes sell for 99c, I stock up.

Thanks....Just wait until you see what I'm working on next with a cake mix. I sure hope it turns out.

So... no eggs,no other ingredients... just Cake mix, flour, water and salt....

Gonna have to try this.

If the dough is to soft you can add more cake mix until just workable. You will need to work some flour in before you roll into balls. It is a soft dough.
