Oat flour

Can oat flour be used on its own or is it best mixed with another flour?

Yes. or No.

But first you have to tell us what you are doing with it.

I had this discussion with a colleague yesterday. A friend replaces half of the flour in her Vanishing Oatmeal cookies with oatmeal that she pulses in her FP. She swears by it. Have not yet tried it.

oat flour

I want to bake bread and love oats in all its forms but have never used oat flour before and would like to know if it stands on its own.

Oats on their own do not have the gluten needed to give your bread good structure. Unless you are on a gluten free diet, you will want to add in some regular/bread flour to the recipe.
