Not a big doughnut eater, and have never had a "spudnut", but I get what you're saying, and definitely like the additional shelf life. I'll definitely give it a go!

Currently, I've been making my hearth loaves about 400-500 grams. That's a couple days breakfast for the kids and it will keep nicely for a couple days on the counter in paper bag or in the fridge in a ziploc.
