ISO corn muffin recipe

Does anyone remember the N.Y. muffins that were available in the deli's They were almost flat on top and came 12 in a plain cardboard box that was usually stained with the oil from the muffins. They were a prerequsite for anyone coming to visit me in AZ. I'm looking for the recipe, almost to the point of obsession. They were made by a company in brooklyn and I have been searching for a very long time
