Here's another recipe I thought i'd share..
I absolutely LOVE Red Lobsters cheddar biscuits, and figured out a way to make some that are >almost< as good..;)

Cheddar Biscuits

2 C. Bisquick
1/2 C. cold water
1 C. grated, sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 C. butter
1 tsp. parsley flakes
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. Italian Seasoning

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix together baking mix, cold water, and grated cheese. Cut biscuits with a cutter, and place onto a baking dish. Melt butter and seasonings together. Brush with the butter and spices and bake for 8-10 minutes. (I like to sprinkle some Garlic Bread Powder ontop before baking)

Any other ideas to make this recipe even better?:chef:

They sound good. I would want to try them your way before adjusting, but off the top of my head maybe brushing some melted butter with minced garlic on the top , after you pull them out of the oven, would be good? Or maybe just before you pull them out?
This would be in lieu of the Garlic Bread Powder you sprinkle on before baking.

That looks very similar to the recipe I use...

Rum's Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits (similar to a certain seafood chains version)

1 small box (2 cups) Jiffy Buttermilk Biscuit Mix
2/3 cup of milk
½-¾ cup of SHARP fine shredded cheese
2 TBS butter or margarine
½ tsp granulated garlic
1 tsp red pepper flakes (OPTIONAL)

Combine all ingredients, except for spices, until a soft dough forms. Add spices and then beat like **** by hand for about 30 seconds. Drop dough by spoonfuls on a lightly greased cookie sheet. This should make a dozen 'normal' size biscuits. Bake at 400° for approx 12 minutes or until tops are nice and brown.

Box, Box ??

Southern Drop Biscuits

Pre heat the oven to 5oo degrees

Lightly butter or spray with pam a pan with sides-I use a round cake pan.

mix and sift together into a bowl-

2 cups of flour
2 heaping teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of sugar
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda

Add either 1/4 cup of cooking oil-canola
or 1/4 cup of finely diced butter.
Either stir as you slowly pour the oil into the flour
or mix by squeezing the butter and flour together

Add 1 cup of buttermilk and mix with a spoon .
the mix will be wet.

Place 1/2 cup of flour in a small bowl
Take a slightly heaped tablespoonful of the dough
drop into the dry flour turn over to coat all sides
pat the excess flour off and shape at the same time
place in the pan and so on.
The biscuits should touch the sides of the pan and each other.

Place on the middle rack of the hot oven.
Turn the heat down to 475 and bake for 12 minutes.
The tops should be lightly browned.

(for cheese biscuits leave out the oil and add 1 to 2 cups grated cheese

I like Colbyjack)

I would mix the seasonings with the Bisquick, so the flavor would be distributed throughout the biscuits, rather than just on top, and just put the melted butter with garlic powder on top. Maybe add a little onion powder to the seasoning mix. Sounds really good, thanks for posting :)

the last time I looked a a box of bisquick and it's been a while

It had PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED OIL!=trans fat

In case you don't know that stuff is BAD for you.
