hey guys, in my previous thread i needed to come up with a new food mixing two cultures together...a new food that hasn't been available on the market so i was thinking...what do you guys think about this concoction - whether it's already made or if it isn't, would you want to eat it? here it is - it's a mix between chinese and italian....it's a take on the dumpling but the dumpling skin will be made of sweet potatoes while the filling is a quinoa risotto of some sort (cheese, ham??) so..have you guys heard of this? thanks

No, I haven't heard of it.

Quinoa is a pulse - related to beans, peas and lentils. A quinoa risotto would be pretty hefty stuff, I'd imagine.
You could always try stuffing your dumpling with couscous. Or Bulghur wheat. Or Kasha.

quinoa is a south american specialty, neither Italian or chinese... (though delicious all the same when cooked right!)
Couscous is however used quite often in the southern part of Italy, where there is some influence from the Northern African culture.
