Barbecue remnants scraped off grill: Name?

What is the name of the barbecue remnants scraped off the grill? I was told in the past that some people here in the US actually consume it, but I can't recall the name for it.
 
I'm reaching here, Burnt ends? Your description doesn't actually match burnt ends, but I don't know what else to guess.

Burnt ends are actually intentionally made the way they are. They are not a mistake.

That's the stuff you burn off before you cook again.

Do you mean tenkasu? The crunchy tempura bits they use on sushi rolls?
(Those would actually be good on mac and cheese, shooting it over to that thread...)
