Best Drink Companion

Hi

I am making a chicken dinner and was wondering what is the best liquor to pair with the meal. Most people would choose a wine to use but I rather go against the traditional sense. Besides mixing liquor can add a new presentation to a meal.

Hard alcohol dulls the taste buds so you do not taste full flavors. That is why you generally do not find hard drinks being served with meals. Of course that does not mean you can't do it. I don't have any suggestions of what to drink if not beer or wine though.

I would go with something not so heavy. I am not good at pairings, but maybe an IPA possibly.

for beer - a lager or pilsner

a cocktail made with Armagnac, brandy, or Calvados might be in keeping with your chicken.
