summergirl asked for this recipe - hope your dogs like them - mine do!!

Make a std 2 lb loaf of bread in bread machine (cut the amount of yeast in half so that the finished product is more dense).

when cool, slice the loaf (1 inch thick slices)

cut the slices 1 inch thick (this will yield 1 inch by 1 inch by 5 inch sticks.

Make following sauce:

use any oil that food has been cooked in or if you do not fry in oil, vegetable oil is fine, add 1 tsp garlic powder to oil and heat briefly to incorporate.

bruch each stick on opposite sides with oil/garlic mixture.

Place on a cookie sheet or sheet pan in a very slow oven (200 degrees) for several hours. the sticks should pick up a nice brown color and be dry thru out.

when cool store in jar or container at room temperature. These are like doggie biscotti.
