Cooking Problems

Hi guys,

I'm currently busy with a schoolproject for product design.
I need to know what kind of problems people encounter when cooking.
It's still for my research and would be very happy if i can get some suggestions from you guys, thanks.

Hi Magic and welcome to DC. I hope you'll stick around and become part of our community. :)

The only problems I encounter when cooking, is the unrelenting pressure to get food out to our customers. I'm in catering, and working in a hot kitchen and I mean hot, is no easy task.

One difficult task that I do know is making meringues. The bowl one whisks the egg whites in has to be squeaky clean, devoid of any fat deposits. Or the egg whites will never foam up. Another is trying not to burn oneself on hot ovens. Or if a sauce splits, and then one has to think on one's feet especially when working alone and under huge pressure. But I love it. :D

Hi, I need to know how long canned pumpkin is good for if expiration date is march 2010 . With the shortage of pumpkin I would like to use my cans to try new desserts before Thanksgiving and Christmas. Thanks for any help you can give me.
