Could I add food coloring to this cake?

So every month we have little cooking contests at work so for March we're having a green theme. I have a wonderful Tortuga rum cake recipe and I was wondering if it was possible to make that green. Here's the recipe:

Quote:
Basic Cake Mix
* 2 cups cake flour
* 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
* 4 teaspoons baking powder
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 cup butter, cut into bits
* 3 tablespoons vegetable oil For the Cake
* 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
* 1 (3 1/2 ounce) package vanilla instant pudding mix
* 1/2 cup milk
* 4 eggs
* 1/2 cup whaler vanille rum (Hawaiian-style rum)
* 1/2 cup vegetable oil
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Rum soaking Glaze
* 1/2 cup butter (do not substitute)
* 1/4 cup water
* 1 cup granulated sugar
* 1/2 cup whaler vanille rum (Hawaiian-style rum)
Would adding green food coloring to this make it green? I've never really messed with food coloring before.

If that doesn't work, could I add food coloring to pie dough to make it green?

Thanks for any help!

It'll work. No Problem. Add a couple of drops at a time.
