Exploding Chocolate

Perhaps you've seen instructions for making pure chocolate ice cream cups. Maybe you've done it yourself.

How to Make a Chocolate Ice Cream Cup Using Balloons ~ Cool Pictures

I hadn't done it before and thought I'd try today. Learning experience. One thing I learned is that you let the chocolate cool for a bit. The second lesson is to buy a better grade of balloon. The first balloon went through okay. The second didn't fare so well.

The combination of overly hot chocolate and ultra cheap balloon (all the grocery had) resulted in a rupture about half way through coating the second one. After a while, the experience produced its third lesson. That is that it may be many days before you find all the places molten chocolate landed.

That is too funny, GLC! I swear I'm not ROFLing, since I've never tried the trick myself.

As long as you get the chocolate from behind your ear and off the top of your head...it's all good. I wouldn't be surprised if you are still finding it in three years!
