How to determine shelf life of product?

Hi there.

I'm looking at making a vegan protein bar with all natural ingredients (similar to: Vegan Protein Bars | POPSUGAR Fitness) and I'd like to start packaging them for sale at farmers markets, etc.

Hi Wizzle, and welcome to Discuss Cooking. If you're looking to sell them at a farmers market there are many rules you must follow so look into what applies to your area. Selling baked goods isn't easy. For one thing, here all Non-Agricultural products are required by law to be manufactured in a certified commercial kitchen.

I would stay away from this unless you have lots of liability insurance and sufficient funds to have your product tested by an independent laboratory.

You could also look at a company similar to this one that would create and package a bar using your specifications.
