ISO help/tips making eggplant parmesan

my husband LOVES eggplant parmesan. he has asked me to make
it for dinner, and I'm less than thrilled.
I would have no problem with it, but for me it is a texture thing.
and it is the texture and appearance of the cooked eggplant that
gets to me! is there ANY way to keep the eggplant from getting
dark, mushy and slimy??

Cant help you. My wife loves the stuff too, but knows that the only way she
will get it is in a restaurant.
I have tried every way to make it that I can think of, and it is still nasty.

Roast slices in a 450 oven, turning once, until well browned. OR grill on the BBQ.
