Question Lemon Curd

I have a recipe that called for lemon curd. Does anyone know how to make lemon curd? I know I can buy it, but I am more curious to make it myself. If that is feasible :)

It's so very easy to make and tastes divine.

I'm lucky if it can make it to a recipe. It is fantastic on toasted English muffins.

I know. I have no idea at all how long it will keep in the refrigerator. It's never stayed there more than a week.

Orange curd is pretty good, too.

If you use key limes, and put the curd into a flaky pie crust, does it become key lime pie?

I'm thinking that the curd isn't quite as stiff as the custard in a pie, but then, I could be mistaken.

I presume curd could be made from any fruit, e.g. orange curd?
