If you are using
2 cups of self-rising cornmeal then add:

2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons solid vegetable shortening
1-1/2 cups buttermilk

. My kitchen is for dancing. Bring me sunshine in a cup~emily dickinson. Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
