Smile Onion Rings!

Hello all!

my name is spiro and this my first post

I made a video on how to make onion rings..
and it turned out really good!

All you need is:

Onion rings
cornstarch
cayenne and black pepper
1 cup water
salt
baking soda
1 cup flour
Panko bread crumbs

And that's it you're good to go..

you know.. who doesn't love onion rings.. i mean we all eat it at restaurants but sometimes its just too expensive..
so here i show you how to make them with fairly cheap ingredients and believe me you wont regret making them because it tastes like the taste we all know ( restaurants ) and even better.. try them and see for yourself..
kids love it.. adults love it.. teens love it..

Welcome to DC. Do stick around. This is a fun place to be.

I never told my kids that onions were a veggie. Or they wouldn't dream of eating fried onion rings. Thanks for the recipe.

Here is my tried and true method for making onion rings:

1 egg beaten
1/2 C Buttermilk
1/2 C cornmeal
1/2 C flour
salt, cayenne, black pepper
Sliced onions
Oil

Mix the egg with the buttermilk
mix up the flour, cornmeal and seasonings

Slice and separate onions and heat oil. Dip onion ring in wet mix and then in dry. Fry.

Perfect every time and this is a nice coating. Not too heavy but not to light. the corn adds good flavor.

Yes - I think it matters. I usually use walla walla sweets. They have a smoother flavor profile and higher moisture content. They get soft quickly when cooked which, in an onion ring is a good thing.

Yellow onions are ok as well (not my first choice however). White onions and red onions are too crisp and for whites especially, the flavor is pretty sharp.
