Raw Sugar

the only difference that I know of is one lighthens your wallet more than the other

in my opinion, it is a gimmick

and I am one of the original health food nuts
 
"Raw" sugar is still a processed sugar. The sugar cane is processed to remove the juice which is then processed into to make "raw" sugar or further processed to make white sugar (i.e. no molasses or inpurities). The process is different depening on which is being made.
 
"Raw" sugar is sugar with some of the impurities left in. Refined sugar has the impurities removed and nothing added. Your choice.
