Spelling words with my mini alphabet cut-outs

I'm planning to spell some 3 letter words with my sugar cookies

how can I glue them together "before baking"?

egg wash? water?
or just place them close to each other in the baking pan?

Are you going to ice them? You could overlap them about 1/8", pinch the seam and bake them. Then you could cover any imperfections with icing...
