Substitutions for milk

If I missed this forums I apologize. Here's my dilemma. Due to poor planning, I have no milk but the rec calls for one cup o milk. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

In dire straits I have used liquid creamer or powdered coffee creamer mixed with water.

If you have sour cream which you would use in beef stroganoff it will work just be sure to temper sour cream with a bit of the hot gravy then mix in as to not curdle sour cream.Or maybe just mix some sour cream 1/2 or more with water to 1 cup.The sour cream would make your meatballs even more delicious.
