I'm trying to follow one of the many Sweet and Sour Sauce recipes I have found online :
3 tablespoons Sugar
3 tablespoons Rice Vinegar
1 tablespoon Ketchup
dash of soy sauce
1 tablespoon Corn Starch
50ml water
Unfortunately I can't find Corn Starch in any of my local shops ( UK - Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons etc ), the closest they have is Corn Flour. However, when I add this, the sauce loses all its taste. Prior to adding it, it tastes great, but obviously way too thin.
My questions are :
Should Corn Flour affect the taste?
Will Corn Starch affect the taste?
And is it worth me ordering Corn Starch from somewhere online?
