What are your worst recipe disasters?

I tried making whole wheat tagliatelle without any pasta equip and it was so gummy and bad we had to bail and go out to dinner.I haven't tried since and probably won't.

I also tried to come up with a kasha salad and that was just inedible too.
 
Many years ago when I was just a child of 11 years of age, I tried baking a cherry pie. I used a Betty Crocker recipe and followed the directions meticulously but substituted canned cherry pie filling for fresh cherries. When the recipe called for adding sugar, I stirred in sugar without a second thought.

The pie looked great and smelled great ... but it was so sweet that it was inedible.
