First Part:
I have some recipes that say "cook on medium", or "cook on medium high", etc. etc.
Second Part:
Some of my cooking appliances only go by degrees on the tempature control.

My question:
What is the actual number degree for low, med low, med, med high, and high?

example:
What is the actual number degree for Medium? Is medium considered 350 degrees?

What # degree is low?
What # degree is medium low?
What # degree is medium?
What # degree is medium high?
What # degree is high?

I use thes values:

Very Cool 225-250
Cool 275-300
Warm 325
Moderate 350
Medium hot 375
Quite Hot 400
Hot 435
Very Hot 450-475

The knobs on my range don't have degrees... the dials are just numbered 1 thru 10. I just estimate by where it is on the dial. Between 1 and 2 is marked Simmer, but I mostly just divide the dial into segments and go with that... medium is 5, medium high is 7-8, etc.:chef:

If you need to know more accurately than that, I'd recommend using a thermometer for verification.

Stove top burner knobs are usually numbered 1-10.

Oven temp knobs have temperatures on them.

I would agree with the above. A very useful guide.
