Addie's post in the dinner thread made me wonder what made a pot roast a Yankee pot roast.

According to Wikipedia, it's just another name for the same dish. Your thoughts?

I always thought a Yankee Pot Roast had salt pork somewhere in the recipe.

In our house it was always just the chuck roast, potatoes, carrots, onions and celery. To me the best things about it are the scorched potatoes around the edge of the roasting pan and the hash made from the leftovers.
