Question Why add espresso to Chocolate?

I am making chocolate covered pretzels and my question is....why do some cooks say to add espresso to the chocolate? Does the chocolate taste anything like coffee, or a hint of coffee, or does it just bring out more chocolate flavor.

The two flavors compliment each other. Good chocolate will have a hint of coffee flavor in it.

Try a little chocolate with coffee mixed in and decide for yourself.

Coffee gives chocolate more depth of flavor and complexity. If you add just the right amount of coffee, one won't even be able to tell that there's coffee in the final product.
