Lindt Excellence Chili Dark Choclate Bar review...

I saw this item in the candy section and since it had chili in the title I had to try it.

The bar has 10 1.25 by 1.75 inch connected pieces of dark chocolate with chili oil mixed in it.

The chili flavor was present, but big time on the weak side for me.

The chocolate flavor though was really good.

In the end I will give this item a minor thumbs up.

I enjoy this one. The first time I tried it my thought was the same as you, that is was very weak on the chili, but I have bought it a few times since and other bars I have gotten have actually had a stronger chili presence. When you get a good one it really works very well.

Hmmmm. Interesting. Instead of a little chocolate with your chili, it's a little chili with your chocolate. I'll have to look for these bars. Love dark chocolate.

OK this is kind of sad. I just looked up this bar on their site, which you can see here.

In one breath they say
Quote:
Excellence Chili is an exceptional and entirely new taste experience
and then in the next breath they say
Quote:
Mayans & Azetecs often perfumed their savory chocolate drink with chili.
I guess their definition of "entirely new taste experience" is different than mine

Onto the CHUAO Spicy Maya Chocolate Bar review

Our local grocery store got this bar in and I thought I would try it. A bit expensive at 5 bucks.

It is supposed to have Cayenne and Pasilla chile peppers infused in it and is 60% dark chocolate.

This bar had no connect pieces in it, but had a bunch of coco pods on it for a design. Loved it.

The taste was a bit bitter, but was not that bad.

This was the second bar that just did not have chile flavor I was looking for.

Another minor thumbs up for me.
