This is a new idea from the Frito Lay people...

I say this was just a ploy to sell more dip...

The chips had a wide ridge to them that was extra deep and a bit thicker than a kettle cooked chip...

I say the new dips they are trying to sell would have easily held up with a wavy lays chip though....

The bag did have same some nice big chips in it.

Chips were nice and crunchy.

The taste was really good.

I will give this item a big thumbs up, BUTTTT I just do not see this as a special item at all.

I prefer thinner chips because you can eat them with a healthy dip (like onion soup mix plus non-fat sour cream) and have a not totally unhealthy snack/appetizer. If you have thick chips then the chips are the worst dietary sin you're eating (unless you eat them with a high fat high sodium dip).
