I purchased some banana pappers today to saute and have as a topping for steak sandwiches. I cut them up and fried them inCanola oil with fresh chopped garlic. They worked out perfect,
Now the problem is.....How do I get the hot stuff off my hands. I fear touching my eyes. Have washed 3 timesbut still on there.

Scrub your hands with vinegar. The acid in the vinegar will counteract the alkali in the hot pepper that causes the burning. The acid in the vinegar is stronger than the acid in lemon but lemon will work in a pinch.

I have used lemon juice.. and it works for me.

Vinegar seems like it would as well, though lemons smell better. :)
