Leek and Cheese Puff recipe.

My aunt use to serve this to me on Sat. afternoons with a nice green salad and some bread she would butter, and cut into fingers, up under the broiler and crisp.
Leek and Cheese Puff
needs to be made 24 hrs. ahead of time
2-3 Tab. soft butter
6-slices white bread, crusts removed
1-lb. sharp cheddar, grated
4-Tab. white part of leeks, diced
4-eggs
2-c. milk
salt and pepper to taste
3/4-tea. dry mustard
1-tea. Worcestershire sauce

Butter bread and cut into cubes. Place cubes in bottom of lightly greased 2-qt. casserole. Spread cheese on top and sprinkle with leeks. Combine in bowl the eggs, milk, mustard, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire, mix well. Pour over cheese and refrigerate covered overnight. The next day remove from refrigerator and let stand 30-60 min. Bake uncovered in preheated 350 oven for 30-40 min or til lightly browned and puffed
Serve right NOW
Should serve 4-6
ENJOY
