My green beans

So I did my bi-monthly trip to town 130 miles round trip I found some really fresh green beans. Got home trimmed the ends blanched them and cold shocked them in cold water. After that I sauteed them in butter, garlic, salt and pepper and finished with some fresh lemon juice. The left over beans are brown on the ends this has never happened before. What the heck happened? Any thoughts?
