Orange beets for two

ORANGE BEETS for TWO

1/3 c. orange juice
2 TBL light brown sugar
1TBL butter
1/2 tsp. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. ground ginger
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 (8 oz) can sliced beets, drained
2 TBL golden raisins
orange peel strips for garnish

In a saucepan over medium heat, cook and stir first 7 ingredients until thick.
Add the beets and raisins.
Heat through.
Garnish with orange peel strips.

Can you give me some ideas as what you would eat the above recipe with???? :)
 
Gee.. I've served them with a porterhouse, and parsleyed turnips.
Great next to a burger and Hillbilly fries or mashed taters.
Also stands up well next to fried or broiled shrimps or scallops, and a salad...........

Improvise, Rhapsodize, and let me know what you come up with.......... ; )
 
I would like them with ham or turkey, or just about anything, really.

DH doesn't like beets, but I may make these for myself...they sound so good!
