Sausage and Taters in slow cooker

Melt 1 Tab. butter in a skillet over med heat. Add 1 lb. Italian sausage cut into slices saute until partially cooked then drain and put the sausage into the cooker.Add 1 med diced onion 2-3 lbs Yukon gold potatoes diced combine sausage and potatoes and onions mix well Drizzle the mixture with 3-4 Tab. Maple syrup salt and pepper and set the cooker to low and cook over night or 10-12 hours if desired serve with scrambled eggs.
