TNT Onions and Almonds

we like this with chops or steaks, I like to put it on a silce of French or Italian bread it's yummy
so preheat your oven to 350. Peel 2 doz. small white onions after cooking in boiling water for a min or so or til the skin slips of easily. Set them aside, in a heavy skillet melt 1/4 lb. of butter, stir in 1/2 cup almonds and 1 tab. dark brown sugar. Add 1 clove minced garlic,stir a min or so and the add salt, pepper and 1/4 cup white wine.Add onions to butter mixture and stir til onions are well coated. Cover skillet and bake for 30-40 min, shaking skillet every 15 min to prevent sticking.
