Adapt White Rice Recipe to Brown

I'm making this tonite for dinner:
2-1/2 cups water
1 envelope Lipton® Recipe Secrets® Savory Herb with Garlic Soup Mix
1 cup regular or converted rice
  1. In 2-quart saucepan, bring water to a boil over high heat. Stir in Lipton Recipe Secrets Savory Herb with Garlic Soup Mix and rice.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer covered 20 minutes.
Here's my question: I want to use brown rice instead of white rice. I know I have to cook it longer, but do I need to add more water as well?
Thanks, Jan

I know this answer is late but the ratio of liquid is the same.
