I am making beef barley soup/stew and all I could find was QUICK cooking barley at the store. Should I put it in the crockpot in the beginning to let it cook along with everything or at the last hour or so. Just wondering if it would cook to mush if I added it at the beginning.
Planning on putting in 3/4 cup, should I add more? Theres 5 cup liquid in the crock plus the cookdown juices.
