Cooking liquids for rice

What could I add to the water when cooking rice, apart from stock? Any suggestions?

Add the raisins at the beginning. This results in rice pudding.

I leave out the raisins and use cut up dried apricots. Love rice pudding!

garlic, ginger, lemongrass, galangal, citrus slices or zest,
assorted chopped veggies (celery, carrot, leek, spinach...)
bay, thyme and other spices, rubs and spice mixes....
