Calico Beans

1/2 lb. Hamburger - browned
1/2 lb. Bacon - cut into small pieces, browned and drained
1 Medium Onion - diced
2 t. vinegar
1/2 C. Catsup
3/4 C. Brown Sugar
1 t. Salt
1 t. Mustard
1 Can each of Pork & Beans, Red Beans, Kidney Beans, Garbonzo Beans, and Lima or White Beans (I prefer White)

Combine and simmer for 1/2 hour.
Bake for 40 min. at 300F

Yummmmmm!

Ooooh, this sounds delicious. I love beans. Can you clarify - do you simmer on the stove for 30 minutes and then bake in the oven for 40 minutes?

Yes. I simmer in a dutch oven on the stovetop for the half hour and then into the oven for the 40 minutes.

My favourite recipe is a sausage & baked bean casserole, which has enough flavour for adults & is fun for the kids as well.
