Saw this receipe on the food channel although i would make it for myself this way, but what suggestion does anyone have to subtitute they are on - no alchol -, even tho alchol cooks out, they get nervous ( 82yr sold) I was thinking clam juice but didn't know if it would make it to fishy. Thanks
I think you can leave the wine out. Replace it with chicken stock or better yet, boil the shrimp shells in a couple cups of lightly salted water for a few minutes, strain and use the broth in place of the wine. Good luck!
you can use chicken stock or a mix of chicken and clam, or just simmer the shrimp shells in the chicken broth for a while to give it a little seafood flavor. Some orange zest or peel gives a nice citrus note and will compensate for the absence of wine.
