This is basicly beef stew,

use 1 inch cubes of chuck roast and stew for 2 hours till tender..

but the spices are very strange?

the internet is all over the place, do you use tomatoes or not, cumin?

standard stew spices don't work.

The mexican resturant down the the street makes it SOOO Good, and the lunch special fo Guiso is 6.99

I think I will just keep going there!

Stew recipes tend to be "all over the place" as it's a meal that is intended to use up what's hanging around. My suggestion is to ask the restaurant what they put in it and tie that to an internet recipe that is similar. Then you have to be willing to experiment.

I made this the other day, rump steak veges and store bought beef goulash mix Worcester sauce Vegemite. Nice in a waffle with cheese.

Eric, you have nothing to lose by asking them what spices they use. Just tell them that you love to cook, and want to try making that dish. The worst thing that can happen is they can say "No." You won't get arrested, and I'm pretty sure they will still take your money when you go there to eat.

What spices do you find strange? Of the several recipes I've google, I can't find any strange ingredients.
