I was debating where to put this, but since .... well, don't remember his/her name .... gave me the thought:

How many of you have bought a cookbook that was NOT in your language? Did you use it?

When I visited Quebec a number of years ago, I bought a French language cookbook. I have used it, but quickly learned that my dictionary does not have cooking terms! It made for some fun, though. I can read really basic French and have many French-speaking friends, and my parents speak French, but are unschooled in it. So using the recipes gave me lots of fun, calling friends to find out what this or that ingredient is. It was great fun, and I wish I'd bought a Slovene cookbook when I was there. Since a friend and I (her mother from France, my family's roots are in small Quebecoise towns) share tourtiere recipes and tales ... well, the entire experience was a good one.
